Ramallah, September 10, 2014 UNESCO Ramallah Office organized under the activities of Palestinian Women’s Research and Documentation Center (PWRDC), funded by the Norwegian Representative Office to Palestinian Authority (PA), and in consultation with the Palestinian Ministry of Women’s Affairs an intensive 5 day training for the members of the Gender Advisory Committee of Palestinian Authority’s Security Sector (GACPSS).

“With the support of the Norwegian Representative Office, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MoWA), UNESCO’s Palestinian Women’s Research and Documentation Center (PWRDC) and Birzeit’s University Institute of Women Studies are partnering to establish a network of gender researchers selected from  different governmental, semi governmental, and nongovernmental organizations in the West Bank and Gaza.

The Palestinian women Research and Documentation Center library was established in 2005 with about 500 books some of them from the ministry of Planning (gender unit) and others from UNESCO publications and braches book, now our library contain 5000 books ready to use and 2500 book in process for data entry and classification, in addition to that it contains an up to date audio-visual books,  references, reports, and documents that examine development issues at the local regional and international levels . The library is specialized in social science, specifically in gender.

Ramallah, November 28, 2013 – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs Mr. Bassam Al Khatib and the UNESCO Head and Representative Mr. Derek Elias officially launched the new phase of the  Palestinian Women’s Research and Documentation Centre (PWRDC).
